Swimbridge War Memorial re-dedication

Following a special Holy Communion service at 9.30am in St James’ Church, Swimbridge, nr Barnstaple, North Devon, there will be a re-dedication service  at 11am at the newly renovated War Memorial.

The church will be displaying Mr Mervyn Dalling’s monumental research work on the lives of the men of the parish who fell and are remembered on the memorial, together with WW1 memorabilia including medals, letters, postcards and photographs.

If anyone has any other Swimbridge WW1 memorabilia that they are willing to loan for display on the day, please contact the Churchwarden , Mr John Hayes ( 01271 830529) .

The War Memorial was renovated with assistance from the Devon Remembers WW1 War Memorial renovation grant fund, details of which can be found here.
