Exhibition, Memory Walk and Poppy Quilt display in Georgeham
13 September 2014
Georgeham Parish Memorial Clock Appeal Group has organised a series of events for locals and visitors alike to help us to remember the beginning of WW1 and to raise money for the restoration of the clock on Georgeham church tower which is our WW1 Memorial.
On Saturday 13th September, at St George’s Church, or Georgeham Village Hall, the Royal British Legion memorial quilt will be on display. There will be a talk about the quilt and the WI will be serving ‘soup and puds’.
There will also be a display of the parish as it was during the First World War, and of the men who served.
Visitors will be invited to join in a Memory walk around the villages to see where some of our soldiers lived; maps will be available for a small charge.
We hope you will be able to join us. The Memorial Clock will be re-dedicated during the remembrance day service in November.
