This Gallipoli-related event, being held at Manaton Parish Hall on ANZAC Day 25th April, will feature a presentation and static displays.

Key to the event are the local links with the 1915 Gallipoli campaign which include: a presentation by General Sir Frank Kitson GCB KCB MC DL on the early Naval campaign through the eyes of his uncle, Admiral Kitson, who served there on board HMS Swiftsure; the landings through the eyes of Pauline Evans’ father; the life and death in action of Edward Morton of Manaton who landed on the Gallipoli peninsula on 7th September 1915 but was sadly killed on 20th November; and the terrain through the paintings of More Jones, an official war artist, now owned by Colin Stewart of Manaton.

It promises to be a fascinating evening.
